Techinitive

About

An engineering partner, not a resourcing arrangement.

Techinitive builds enterprise software that clients can own, maintain and change without us. Independent, senior, and deliberately arranged to make the usual failure modes harder.

01Company

Why the company exists

Techinitive exists because of a pattern we kept seeing from the inside: enterprises paying for software they could not maintain, delivered by teams they never met, against estimates that were negotiating positions rather than forecasts.

So the company is arranged to make that harder. Engagements open with a paid technical assessment that you own outright and can take elsewhere. The engineers in that assessment are the engineers who write the code. Handover documentation is a deliverable with a due date, not a gesture at the end.

None of that is remarkable. It is simply what a competent engineering partner should do, and it is uncommon enough to be worth building a business around.

Mission

Build software our clients can own, maintain and change without us.

Vision

Be the engineering partner enterprises call when the work has to be right rather than merely delivered.

02Values

What we hold ourselves to

Four commitments that are easy to write down and inconvenient to keep. We would rather be measured against them than have a longer list.

Say the inconvenient thing early

If a product fits better than a build, if a rule beats a model, if the sector is outside our depth — you hear it at the first call, not in month three when it is expensive.

Seniority is not a sales tactic

The people in discovery are the people who implement. We do not staff a project with juniors once the contract is signed, and we would rather decline work than dilute a team to win it.

Boring technology, deliberately

A system that runs for a decade is worth more than one that used an interesting framework for a year. Novelty needs to justify itself against the cost of maintaining it.

Handover is the deliverable

Documentation, runbooks and knowledge transfer are scoped and dated like any other work. Software only we can maintain is a liability we sold you.

05How we work

The same process, every engagement

Discovery is fixed price and yours to keep. If the assessment says you should buy a product rather than build one, that is what it will say.

Discover

Fixed-price assessment of the systems, constraints and commercial goal. Output is an architecture decision record and an estimate you can act on.

Design

Data model, service boundaries and interface design agreed with your team — reviewed, not presented.

Build

Two-week increments, each ending in something deployable. Direction can change at any boundary.

Harden

Load, accessibility, security and observability work completed before launch rather than after the first incident.

Transfer

Phased release, runbooks and paired sessions until your engineers are genuinely self-sufficient.

06Leadership

Who runs it

The people accountable for delivery, and reachable when something goes wrong.

07Why Techinitive

What clients say keeps them

Senior engineers, not a pyramid

The people in the discovery workshop are the people who write the code. We do not staff a project with juniors once the contract is signed.

Fixed-price discovery

Every engagement opens with a paid technical assessment producing an architecture decision record, a delivery plan and a real estimate. You can take it and leave.

Handover is the goal

Documentation, runbooks and knowledge transfer are deliverables, not goodwill. A system only we can maintain is a liability we sold you.

We will talk you out of work

If a product fits better than a build, or a rule beats a model, we say so. Being right more often than we are busy is the whole business model.
